For the first time in Georgia High School Soccer history, a freshman was named to the first team All-State Team.  Ivy Tolbert, the 5’7” freshman phenom from Commerce High School, Commerce, Georgia, was recently named to the GaHSS.com High School Soccer All-State First Team. Regarded as the top holding midfielder in club soccer in the Eastern United States, Tolbert will play attacking midfielder and forward for her high school team says Commerce High School Coach Deanna Shaw.   “Ivy is a nationally ranked player and her reputation certainly precedes her” said Coach Shaw, “but it’s well deserved.”  Shaw went on to say, “Ivy has size, speed, a huge leg, wins every 50/50 ball, but her passing is what separates her from everybody else.  She is the most accurate passer that I have seen in all my years as a club and high school coach. She can make the most unbelievable passes look very routine. ”

Commerce High School, the 2020 number 1 ranked Class A team, will be favored to win a State Championship this year with their deep pool of talent.  Commerce High School now boast five first team All-State players, including Tolbert’s older sister, Abby Tolbert, as well as one of the top goal scorers in Georgia from the 2020 season, Chloe Diaz. Kate Hill and Carson Hawkins round out this very talented group.
