High School Standouts: March 29-April 3 (Girls)

North Gwinnett 10, #6 Collins Hill 0

North Gwinnett defeated sixth-ranked Collins Hill 10-0 Thursday.  With the win, the Bulldogs earned the No. 2 seed from 8-AAAAAAA in the state playoffs.

 

Mountain View 4, #6 Collins Hill 3

Rachel Lifland scored the game-winning goal in overtime off an assist from Bella Intharaksa, and Mountain View upset sixth-ranked Collins Hill 4-3 in Region 8-AAAAAAA play on Tuesday. Lifland, Angie Garcia and Eva Lea Hoffman scored the Bears’ first three goals, and Kristina Blake, Garcia and Meredith Nawrocki had assists.

 

North Gwinnett 2, Peachtree Ridge 0

North Gwinnett topped Peachtree Ridge 2-0 in 8-AAAAAAA play on Tuesday.  Bree Barley and Halina Santerre scored the Bulldogs’ goals.

 

Discovery 11, Berkmar 1

Jackie Garcia scored four goals and Jocelyn Ramos had three goals and one assist in Discovery’s 11-1 win over Berkmar in 7-AAAAAAA play on Tuesday.  The Titans also got contributions from Kimmy Altamirano (one goal, one assist), Kelly de Santiago (one goal, one assist), Melany Castro Hernandez (one goal), Zoi Sinclair (one goal), Aniellea Carrillo (one assist), Rubi Jaimes (one assist), Gabi Paulding (one assist), Destiny Bacote (one assist) and Karen Gonzalez (one assist).

 

#5 Norcross 2, Archer 0

Fifth-ranked Norcross clinched a home match for the state playoff opener with a 2-0 win over Archer in 7-AAAAAAA play on Tuesday.  Arden Scourtis and Ellie Johnson scored the Blue Devils’ goals. Norcross is 13-2 on the season, including 10-1 in region play.

 

Grayson 4, South Gwinnett 1

Adina Thomas and Valerie Baccino scored two goals each Tuesday in Grayson’s 4-1 win over South Gwinnett in 4-AAAAAAA.

 

Mount Vernon 4, Providence 0

Providence Christian fell to 7-8 overall and 1-3 in region play with Tuesday’s 4-0 loss at Mount Vernon.

 

#1 Holy Innocents’ 4, #6 Wesleyan 0

No. 1 Holy Innocents’ defeated sixth-ranked Wesleyan 4-0 on Tuesday.

 

#2 Mill Creek 6, Mountain View 0

No. 2 Mill Creek capped a perfect run through 8-AAAAAAA with a 6-0 win over Mountain View on Thursday. Brooklynn Fugel and Ari Manrique had two goals each for the Hawks, while Savannah Singleton and Abby Graeser had a goal apiece. Morgan Amrozowicz had two assists, and Ella Williams, Emma Kate Schroll and Maya Zmistowski had an assist each.

 

#5 Norcross 4, Meadowcreek 0

Fifth-ranked Norcross finished 7-AAAAAAA play with an 11-1 record after beating Meadowcreek 4-0 on Thursday.  Katie Moebes, Mayra Saldana Vega, Claudia Gatti and Ellie Johnson had goals for the Blue Devils (14-2).

 

Peachtree Ridge 3, Pace Academy 1

Layla Sirdah scored two goals Thursday in Peachtree Ridge’s 3-1 win over Pace Academy.  The Lions’ other goal was scored by Raegan Best off an assist from Dani Henriquez.

 

#4 Brookwood 7, Discovery 0

Fourth-ranked Brookwood cruised to a 7-0 win over Discovery in a non-region match Thursday.

 

Lanier 5, Shiloh 1

Lanier finished 8-AAAAAA play with a 5-1 win over Shiloh on Thursday.  The Longhorns (10-6, 9-3), who will be the No. 2 seed from the region in the state playoffs, got two goals from Emily Andrews and one goal each from Judah Haynes, Crystal Merino and Kelsey Schexnayder.

 

#3 Buford 7, Dawson County 0

Third-ranked Buford extended its shutout streak to 14 matches Thursday with a 7-0 win over Dawson County on Senior Night.  Seniors Chloe Kerr and Bayley Skinner scored for the Wolves (15-0-1), who got a hat trick from Victoria Bahr. Kaitlyn White and Alli Treadwell also scored in the win.

 

#6 Wesleyan 10, St. Francis 0

Sixth-ranked Wesleyan routed St. Francis 10-0 on Thursday.  The Wolves were led offensively by Kaitlyn Bobo (two goals, one assist) and Lilly Tapp (one goal, two assists). Lainey Jerding and Olivia Cardile shared the shutout at goalkeeper.
